
The youth fashion store Wautsi was founded year 2006 in the small town of Pietarsaari in Western Finland. Wautsi’s media budget has always been small so they wanted to try another marketing solution than the traditional and expensive print advertising.
We started in October 2011 with a promotional Facebook campaign with a goal to sell as many pairs of jeans as possible in the local store in Pietarsaari. Facebook ads about the campaign promoted inexpensive jeans for a targeted audience (Pietarsaari region, age ). The following campaign we did for Wautsi in November 2011 was a sweepstake – a chance to win Wautsi goods – amongst the Facebook fans.
The first weekend with the Facebook jeans campaign running the turnover was 250 % more than on a regular campaign day! The amount of likes on Wautsi’s Facebook page has increased with about 420 %. The Wautsi fanbase has grown to more than 2 000 fans, which is a huge number for a youth fashion store in such a small Finnish town.
